St.Croix River, Osceola Wisconsin

Providing a second retreat cabin/art studio for a rural wooded family compound on the St.Croix River presented several hurdles:  It was important to make the building compatible with an existing cabin while utilizing sustainable design practices and staying within budget.  In addition, the St.Croix Wild and Scenic River protective ordinances now in effect made placement of the building on the site a critical concern.  The result: an energy-efficent construction that mirrors the original cabin and provides splendid views through the trees and across the expansive St.Croix Valley.
